MAKE NO MISTAKE!

Sue O’Donnell. 31.08.20

“ ‘...you should turn from these useless things to the living God, who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and all things that are in them’.” (Acts 14 v 15)

What do we see at work currently?

Militant atheism, Lord, forgive us.

Popular agnosticism, Lord, forgive us.

Fashionable New Age teaching, Lord, forgive us.

A panoply of false preaching, Lord, forgive us.

Our way of thinking is mistaken, Lord, forgive us.

We say there is no absolute truth,

And in so doing deny the existence of Christ Jesus.

This is disastrously serious for us.

Truth has become not fixed,

But relative, subjective, a pick and mix,

A take it, or leave it, it’s your choice.

But holy love has another voice.

The power of the Spirit will seek us,

In order to speak to us,

If we would but admit our errors,

Seek forgiveness, turn to the Lord Jesus

And thereby meet with redemption.

The Spirit of truth leads us out of darkness

Into the light of all holy wisdom and truth.

“Known to God from eternity are all His works.” (Acts 15 v 18)

As we learn to focus on Jesus’ truth as revealed to us,

Praying to build up a friendship with Him,

It is in Jesus we can worship,

The One who goes before us,

To prepare a place for us

In the promised homeland of heaven.

We ask having an empty, fruitless futile life,

Marked by sadness arising out of sin’s strife.

Without Jesus as Lord, we remain unregenerate.

How very serious this is.

Make no mistake,

There is only one way forwards

By which we gain the merits of holiness.

Pray, ask forgiveness for complacent ignorance

And all manner of mistaken defiance.

Then ask to receive and to understand God’s will.

Call on the Spirit of holiness, then wait.

Blessings are always the result of us praying.

“Why are you cast down, O My soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance, and my God.” (Psalm 42 v 11)

“ ‘We believe that through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, we shall be saved... the rest of mankind may seek the LORD, even the Gentiles who are called by My name,’ says the LORD who does all these things’.”” (Acts 15 v 11, 17) Amen.

Please pray.
